Senior Designers (Curtain Wall)

Job Purpose:

To ensure completion of the design of your assigned project(s) to programme and within budget, using robust detailing, all in accordance with the clients specific requirements.

Key Responsibilities & Accountability:

  • Take ownership of your assigned projects, understanding budget, programme, timescales, areas and scope of works.
  • Schedule and lead your design team to achieve the project budget and programme.
  • Communicate with the client to ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled and the Company’s contractual position is protected.
  • Attend and meetings that may be required.
  • Provide regular updates to the Client and Drawing Office Manager.
  • To maintain control of variations ensuring they are raised with the client prior to start of work on that area.
  • Identify training required to develop relevant skills and knowledge, both for yourself and anyone working in your team.

Position Requirements - Necessary:

  • Formal qualification to minimum HNC/ HND, or equivalent by experience, in Building Studies, Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a curtain wall environment.
  • Fully conversant with AutoCAD and other PC-based software packages.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel throughout the business and with customers.
  • Mature approach and understanding of human relationships in an industrial environment.

Position Requirements - Desirable:

  • An awareness of industrial design and production engineering.
